What level does a child need to be proficient? If I were to ask you what you can do to hel ... p your child be successful would you be able to tell me? Did you know that the black students in Madison County, score lower on standardized tests than white students, even if they are in the same classes? Our teachers are working very hard to ensure our students are successful. Some of our teachers are leaving for more money. Some are leaving the profession because it has become too stressful dealing with behavior and the bureaucracy of what state legislatures call success. Forming a partnership with your child's teacher is one of the biggest ways to increase their chances of success. One of the easiest ways to contact teachers is email. Use this tool to keep up with your students. Contrary to popular belief, it is not the teacher's job to teach what should already be known (manners, respect, how to act, and a motivation to learn), yet teachers are being blamed for students lack in these areas. In short, Parents there seems to be an attack on the public school system and the solutions that are currently being offered does not seem to be a solution for ALL of our students.
